Ray County Same-Day Release Check
No official Ray County Sheriff roster, released-person page, rolling 24-hour list, or mobile app was verified in the official sources reviewed for this project. There is therefore no honest feed URL, refresh schedule, online window, photo display, or set of result fields to describe. A commercial list is not a substitute for the sheriff’s record. The practical same-day route is direct confirmation at 816-290-5323, followed by a request for the entry that shows whether the named person was released or transferred.
Same-day caution: absence from a roster or a delayed alert does not prove community release. Ask for the custody outcome and the agency that created it.
A person can stop appearing in one source because of a bond release, court order, sentence completion, transfer to another county, admission to the Missouri Department of Corrections, or another documented custody event. The word “released” must be read with that distinction intact. If the sheriff reports a transfer, obtain the destination instead of treating the answer as a return to the community.
Check Ray County 24-Hour Releases
Use a closed interval rather than the loose word “today.” Note the start and end date, local time, person’s full name, and approximate booking date. That makes a phone question clearer and a later Sunshine request more precise. For one named person, follow this sequence:
- Call the Ray County Sheriff’s Office at 816-290-5323 and ask whether the person left Ray County Jail custody during the stated interval.
- Ask whether the event was a community release or a transfer, and request the destination if another agency received the person.
- Check the Ray County case in Case.net for a bond order, judgment, dismissal, sentence, warrant, or later court entry that may explain the legal basis.
- Use the current MOVANS portal for a specific-person custody record or prospective SMS or email notice, while allowing for source delays or an offline jail.
- Submit the official Ray County Sunshine form when a durable release or transfer entry is needed.
The broader Ray County released-inmate search path helps when the last custodian is unknown. Case.net documents legal events, but it is not a jail-door log. MOVANS may report a change, but its alert is not the underlying sheriff record.

Ray County Release Record Fields
Because no public same-day result screen was verified, no field should be promised as an online display. Missouri’s sheriff retention schedule instead identifies records that may preserve the event. Request the SHF013 inmate file portions and, where useful, the SHF006 arrest or booking sheet. Ask for releasable entries rather than demanding a custom list that may not exist.

These are request concepts supported by the official schedule, not a guarantee that every record contains each item or that every item is open. Closed arrest material, redaction, and other legal limits may affect the response.
Request Ray County Release Entries
Ray County publishes Sunshine request instructions and an official form. Identify the person with enough detail to avoid a mistaken match, give the narrow 24-hour interval, request an electronic copy if available, and ask for an estimate before costs are incurred. A useful description asks for releasable SHF013 inmate-file entries showing admission, transfer, actual release date and time, and release authority or disposition. It can also request the SHF006 booking sheet when that record is relevant.

The county identifies its clerk as custodian for county records and lists hand delivery at 100 West Main Street, Suite 23, Richmond. Sheriff-created jail records may remain with the sheriff, so confirm routing by phone before submitting. Missouri section 610.023 requires action as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day after receipt. If access is not immediate, the custodian supplies a detailed explanation and the earliest access date and time. That is not a promise that all records will be produced within three business days.
Ray County Release Records Outlast Rosters
The strongest Ray County same-day finding is archival. Missouri’s local sheriff schedule retains SHF013 inmate files for five years after release. The same five-year period applies to SHF006 arrest and booking sheets. An inmate file may include admission, release, transfer, and property information. This gives a named-person request a firmer basis than trying to infer a past event from a person’s disappearance online.
Retention does not mean five years of public web access. It also does not guarantee unconditional disclosure. The schedule describes how long the agency keeps record classes; Missouri law still controls closure, redaction, and access. For a release today, a telephone answer can orient the search quickly. For proof next month or next year, the agency-maintained entry is more durable.

Trace Ray County Bond Releases
A bond release is a court-authorized custody change, not sentence completion and not proof that the charge was dismissed. Trace it across three records when they exist: the bond receipt, the Case.net docket or order, and the jail release entry. Each record answers a different question. The receipt concerns payment or satisfaction of a bond condition. The docket supplies legal context. The sheriff’s inmate file documents the custody event.
Ray County State Auditor reports concerning bond-receipt controls make this reconciliation locally important. Those reports do not establish a person’s bond amount, release time, or current sheriff policy. Preserve the receipt and case number, then request the matching jail entry. If one source conflicts with another, ask the office that created that record to explain or correct its own entry.
Route Ray County Release Checks
The sheriff path covers ordinary Ray County Jail custody. MODOC is a different system. Its active offender search covers current prisoners and people on active probation or parole, while discharged people are excluded. A blank active result does not prove release. For a past state correctional episode, use MODOC’s historical nightly data or request status history from the department. A local bond release will not normally create a MODOC record merely because it happened in Missouri.
MOVANS can provide a specific-person alert for participating court, local jail, or MODOC source records. It is prospective, may lag, and may fail to return someone when a jail is offline. For a federal case, use the Bureau of Prisons locator. For current immigration detention, use the ICE locator. Neither federal source is the default for a local Ray County booking.
Missouri changed its notification route on May 6, 2026. The current MOVANS portal uses online registration with SMS or email and replaced the former telephone and VINELink app channels. Existing users had to register again. Search the specific person and select the relevant source record, since a court record, local jail record, and MODOC record can describe different events. If Ray County Jail is offline or no match appears, contact MOVANS support at 573-526-1929 or movans@dps.mo.gov, then return to the sheriff. A no-result screen is not a release finding.
The custody date is especially important for events in early 2025. Ray County Jail closed on January 1, and detainees were distributed to Harrison, Lafayette, and Daviess-DeKalb counties. It reopened in June. For an interval during the closure, ask Ray County to identify the receiving jail from its transfer record. Then request the eventual physical-release entry from that named receiving sheriff. A Ray County court case can remain local even though another county held and released the person.
